Writing Books

can you give me tips about writing books?
Ive been trying to write books for awhile now and somehow their not working for me. Well not really the writing part-spelling-punctuation and such but just like sticking to ideas and keeping them interesting. I have many ideas but i constantly want to be everywhere and put them all in a book ad yes that’s my issue. Ill admit it. I ramble and i know i have to stop. I just need some tips about books. And writing them please.
Thanks…
You guys all helped me so very very much thank you all!
Chris Roerden’s books (“Don’t Sabotage Your Submission” and “Don’t Murder Your Mystery”) are excellent general guides to fiction writing, if that’s what you’re writing.
Here’s another idea. Write down (or draw, or whatever works best for you),
1. Who your characters are
2. Where they are at the beginning of the book
3. Where you want them to be at the end
Then you can start thinking about what has to happen to get them there. (Works for me.)
