As a stay at home father of three young girls, it is important to me to ensure that my youngsters are getting the best education possible Reading is one of the most essential aspects that yours, and my children will need to grow up into productive capable adults, but how to, we locate suitable reading teaching material? How do we ensure that our kids will respond to the activity in an engaging way? In the article, I will impart what I have found that worked with my kids, in hopes that it will work for you and your kids. So, come with me and let us discover the ABCs of phonic worksheets and comprehension reading games.

Tip #1: Be involved. You might be asking yourself how this tip applies to what we are discussing. Despite the simplicity of my first tip, it is the most essential thing that we can do to help our kids seceded in reading and life. When we are involved, we can see our children’s progress. We can see the way they respond to the phonics tools that we present to them. There is a wide variety of worksheets and games that we could find, but if we don’t know how, our children learn; it would do us no good.

Tip #2: Find out your child’s learning style. What are learning styles, and how can understand them to help us to find the right worksheets and games? To answer these questions it is imperative that we understand how people learn. There are three basic methods of learning. These methods are auditory, kinesthetic, and visual.

Auditory Learners learn by hearing rather than seeing or touching. They are the kind of student who sits in the back of the room with a closed book, and no pencil in hand. They tend to be talk to themselves when they are studying, and are often reading out loud. They may need to have background music on or a quiet space where they want to be detracted by outside noise.

Kinesthetic Learners learn by doing and are hands on. They are the kind of student who tends to sit in the middle of the classroom, and often fidgety or taping their desk with a pencil. They like to write things down in notebooks. They thrive in subjects like chemistry or shop where a more hands-on approach is taken in instruction.

Visual Learners learn by reading, watching presentations, extra. They tend to sit in the front of the class where they can get the best view of the board. They read a lot, and prefer to see the chart or graphic for themselves to understand the meaning of it rather than having you explain what it represents.

It is impotent to understand that most people actuarial learn from all three methods, but a clear preference is often noted. So we need to watch our children to see what learning style they prefer.

Tip #3: Pick an ad that works with the learning style of your child. Now that we know what learning style our children prefer, it is time to go out and find the martial needed. There are three mains places for attaining learning material. They are the store, the Internet, and designing them yourself.

The Store: When we buy our reading and phonics martial, we need to remember what learning style our children are most dominated in. When I take my girls to the store to stock up on the learning aids, I allow them to pick out what workbooks they want. There are many themes of worksheets our children can choose from, but how do we know which ones are the best for our kids? This is where knowing our kids learning style is so important. I will be providing a few examples of what could be beneficial for each learning style. This is by no-means an all-inclusive list, and many of these products can be purchased online; however, if you can I recommend buying them at the store and letting our kids help in choosing them. This will help them to use the material. These can be found at Walmart, Target, Kmart, and other national stores.
